The Employment First Conference is designed for all sectors and sizes of employers, employment support providers and healthcare workforce members, and individuals with disabilities ready to join the workforce. The second convening of the conference connected information and resources for supporting workforce development in Alaska. Session speakers and providers shared expertise and insight into accommodations and accessibility in the workplace, healthcare workforce development programs, youth transitions to employment, labor force data, working with disability benefits information, and technology in the workplace.

Highlights included examining data and information about the Alaskan workforce and labor trends; with specifics on Alaskans with disabilities in the labor force and impacts of ‘employment first’ business practices; the State Vocational Rehabilitation Committee’s Business Recognition Awards, and information featuring the Rural Health Transformation Program.
